WINNER Gastropub of the Year Food Awards England and Wales 2014

The Fox at Willian has been announced WINNER in the Gastro Pub of the Year, South and also Overall Winner for England in the Food Awards England and Wales 2014 awards. The award recognises and rewards pubs/inns or bars that have successfully combined the provision of enjoyable food, whether it is a hearty pub grub or a warm welcome with a high standard of management.

Thousands of nominations flooded in for the inaugural Food Awards England and Wales. Voted for by the public, the awards are designed to recognise the efforts of England and Wales restaurants, takeaways, gastro pubs, hotel restaurants, cafes and bistros, as well as shine the spotlight on the wonderful local producers who supply their delicious ingredients.

The Awards ceremony, the biggest in the English food calendar, was hosted by Miss United Kingdom Rachelle Perez at the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, on 17th of November 2014.

John Anderson, General Manager at The Fox said ‘To be recognised in the first Food Awards England and Wales, is a great honour. To be announced Overall Winner in England, is an absolutely stunning achievement and we are more than delighted especially as the votes have come from the public and recognises restaurants that provide cuisine of a truly excellent standard, as well as demonstrating innovation, ambience and providing a high standard of hospitality. This success is a real reward for our enthusiastic team at The Fox.’

The Awards also helped raise over £1300 for the official charity partner, Make A Wish Foundation UK granting magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

Yasmin Mahmood of event organisers Creative Oceanic commented ‘The Fox at Willian was a deserved winner and we must congratulate them on their success. We had a fantastic response from the English and Welsh food industry and public vote and we were delighted to welcome those who provide and supply us with gastronomic delights to our Awards ceremony.’

There are twenty-six categories to award on the evening, and a full list of finalists can be found on www.thefoodawards.info
